When I first was entering the wedding stage of my life where everyone under the sun was getting engaged, I had no idea all that it entailed. Bridal showers- I vaguely knew about them. A bride being showered with gifts, but had no idea that games were involved. There are some games that will always be used like Bridal Bingo or the “What’s in my purse” game (guests have a list of items and whoever has the most in their purse wins a prize). However, I’m more interested in making the games a little more personal. So here’s my list of 5 great bridal shower games to get to know the bride/groom.
Guess the Bride’s Age– This is a fun game for guests to play on their own time. It isn’t formal at all. Basically you can create a poster-board, photo collage, or print-out of the bride at different ages. Then provide index cards for the guests to write their guesses. You can reward the guest with the most correct responses a prize or just have them play for fun! Either way it’s a great way for guests to get to know the bride at all stages of her life. You can also include the groom too 😉
Would they Rather– This a a fun game to play with a large bridal shower party. It’s a play on the “Would You Rather” game and gives the bride/groom scenarios to choose from. Here is an example below. It’s a fun way to get the groom involved too! It’s a very funny game, so be prepared to laugh!
10 Questions– This is another awesome bridal shower game to get the groom involved. It’s a list of different questions and guests have to guess if the answer is the bride or the groom. You can provide the guests with print-outs and play the game as a large group.
Find the Guest- This game is more about getting to know the other guests (in addition to the bride). It’s meant for a smaller bridal shower between 10-20 people. Provide each guest with a checklist of items. Using the list they will need to find other guests with similarities. You can give out prizes to the guests with the most responses!
Who Am I? – This is another interactive game that will be played with the bride at some point in the shower. Guests will be provided with a piece of paper. They will write down a memory/inside joke they have with the bride or bride/groom. Then the bride will read each item aloud and have to guess the guest! This is another one that is sure to give a few laughs! I like this game, because it’s a the perfect one to play while guests eat dessert.
